The team at Acorn Care Homes is made up of a permanent staff of Deputy Managers, Activities Coordinator, Senior Care Assistants, Care Assistants, trained maintenance, kitchen, domestic, laundry and garden staff.
There are over 40 professionals on the team, all dedicated to making the residents happy and comfortable.
The team is led by the Registered Manager at Acorn House and Registered Manager at Acorn Lodge.
The Registered Manager works from Monday to Friday at the homes but is contactable through the Senior-in-charge at all times, in addition to this, the responsible individual visits the homes monthly to observe and monitor standards of care.
Acorn Care Homes have a dedicated team of care staff; each resident is allocated a named staff member who acts as their key worker and “go to” person, responsible for assessing, planning and evaluating the care and the social needs unique to that resident as well as providing quality time. The key worker is also encouraged to familiarise themselves with resident’s relatives and friends.
Day or night there are a dedicated group of qualified care assistants on hand, led by a Senior Care Assistant, (Acorn Home) and (Acorn Lodge) ready to address the needs of residents. All night staff on duty are waking staff and are supported by the manager on call.
Everyone we recruit is hand-picked and subject to government guidelines and the National Minimum Standards plus every employee is expected to undergo a DBS check along with
professional and character references.
New members of staff are closely monitored during an initial two-month trial with every member of staff receiving a yearly appraisal and supervision every two months to ensure optimum standards of care are maintained consistently throughout the homes. Acorn Care Homes believe that staff development is the key
to high standards of care and the manager ensures that statutory training takes place along with professional and vocational training.
